The stock market opened higher Wednesday after President Donald Trump announced his nominee to lead the FBI.

The Dow added 36 points to begin the day at 21,173 points, while the S&P 500 rose 4 points to 2,433.

The Nasdaq was up 22 points to start trading at 6,297 points.

Trump announced earlier Wednesday that he would nominate former Assistant Attorney General Christopher Wray as the new head of the FBI.
