Danish Dong's profit increases by $695 mln in 2Q17
- The company raises outlook for full year as it shows strong financial performance

Denmark's Dong Energy's operating profit increased by 1.8 billion Danish crowns ($695 million) to 4.4 billion Danish crowns in the second quarter of 2017, compared to the same period of 2016, the company announced on Thursday.

Dong said that its underlying operating profit also rose by 74 percent due to higher earnings from the ramping up of new offshore wind farms as well as high wind energy content.

The company also raised its full year outlook from 15-17 billion crowns to 17-19 billion crowns.

"The first half of the year showed strong strategic progress supplemented by good financial and operating results," Henrik Poulsen, CEO and president of the company said.

He said that Dong's expectations for partnership income increased in the second half of 2017.

Dong Energy has approximately 5,800 employees and generated revenue of 61 billion Danish crowns ($ 9.6 billion) in 2016.
