The average electricity rate for one megawatt hour in the day ahead spot market for the week ending March 19 increased by 1.45 percent to 146.86 Turkish liras compared to previous week ending March 12, according to Turkey's Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data on Sunday.
Last week the average electricity rate for one megawatt hour was calculated as 144.75 liras.
The highest electricity rate for one megawatt hour in the day ahead spot market for this week was 206.35 liras on Friday and the lowest was 70.03 liras on Wednesday and Saturday.
EXIST data for the trade volume in this week's electricity market totaled 334.4 million liras.
US$1 equals 3.61 Turkish liras, according to Turkey's Central Bank data.
