30 people die in oil well fire in Nigeria
- Attackers on oil well have not yet been identified, says local police official

At least 30 people died and a large number of people were injured from an attack on an oil well which started a fire in the Cross River province of southeast Nigeria, according to local media on Sunday morning.

According to local police commissioner Hafiz Inuwa, the perpetrators have not yet been identified.

Inuwa confirmed that the wounded were taken to hospital and that an investigation into the attack has started.

A group called "Niger Delta Avengers" has previously attacked oil pipelines in the country's oil-rich delta region.
