Enel to generate power in Spain via wind plants
- Company will invest €600 million for the construction of wind projectsrn

Enel, through its subsidiary Enel Green Power Espana, will construct 540 megawatts of wind power capacity in Spain by 2019, the company said on Wednesday.

The company will invest €600 million for the construction of the wind projects.

The projects will sell their energy in the Spanish electricity market while the Spanish government will provide incentives, in terms of yearly capacity payments, to guarantee a steady return over 25 years of the plants' lifetime, Enel said.

After completion, the wind plants will generate approximately 1,750 gigawatt-hours of electricity per year, while avoiding the emission of around 1,050,000 tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere.

Enel Green Power Espana operates around 1,675 megawatts of renewable energy capacity in Spain.
